The blood of Christ breaks down strongholds and barriers that separate us. The Apostle Paul said, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” On Maundy Thursday, we look closely at Jesus’ prayer for unity. His blood unites us in a common purpose, to sacrificially love our neighbor.

Lent Sermon Series

By His Wounds We Are

“By his wounds we are healed” wrote the prophet Isaiah. But there is so much more to the power of the cross that benefits our lives. This season of Lent (40-days if you don’t count Sundays which historically are seen as mini-Easters) before Easter is a time to turn our hearts toward repentance and remember our great need for a Savior. Join us (Sundays at 8:30 & 10am) as we dive deep into the Word to discover the power of the cross of Christ.

By His Wounds We Are Healed – Sun, Mar 9
The wounds of Jesus bring healing from guilt and shame. The blood He poured for us heals us from the inside out by making peace for us with God.
By His Wounds We Are Redeemed – Sun, Mar 16
When Jesus died on the cross He made a payment for the world. He purchased us to be His own. He redeemed you so that now you no longer belong to evil but you belong to God. Listen and take hold of the power of God’s redemption.
By His Wounds We Are Loved – Sun, Mar 23
1 John 3:16 says, “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down His life for us.” Because God loved us first we know what love truly is. Because of Christ’s sacrifice we know the Father’s love for us. Join us as we remember the fullness of God’s love delivered at the cross.
By His Wounds We Are Saved – Sun, Mar 30
The most famous verse is John 3:16. But the very next verse, John 3:17 says it so well, “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.” By His wounds, we are saved from the punishment we deserve.
By His Wounds We Are Sent – Sun, Apr 6
We know what love is because Christ laid down His life for sinners. In the same way, Jesus sends us to take up our cross and sacrificially love our neighbor. Come and learn why the Holy Spirit sends us to follow Christ’s example.
By His Wounds We Are Free – Sun, Apr 13
Christ’s suffering on the cross sets us free from the accusations of the devil. No longer are we held in bondage by our sin, but Christ has set us free to live a new life for Him.
By His Wounds We Are One – Maundy Thursday, Apr 17
The blood of Christ breaks down strongholds and barriers that separate us. The Apostle Paul said, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” This Maundy Thursday, we will look closely at Jesus’ prayer for unity. His blood unites us in a common purpose, to sacrificially love our neighbor.
By His Wounds We Are Forgiven – Good Friday, Apr 18
Ephesiasns 1:7 says, “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace” At the cross, Jesus cancelled our debt to God.

The Great “Oh!”

Podcast: Play in new window | Download

There is so much that we don’t get about the nature of God.  He seems so far off sometimes.  Sometimes we wonder if He is really there.

Listen to Pastor David’s message (based on John 8:48-59) about how God reveals Himself as the Holy Trinity.  This is the Sunday that the church remembers Him as One God and Three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Jesus also shows how who God is and who He is, as the Son of God, blew the Pharisees’ mind.  It blows our minds too, but God, through Jesus, reveals to us that He is always there for us and involved in each moment of our lives.  He gives us the opportunity to share with others, through our lives, a realization of how wonderful He is!
