Lent 2017: The Passion of Jesus

During the season of Lent 2017, we will explore the last week of Jesus’ life in the Gospel of John. John records more details about Jesus’ last days than any of the four gospels. We’ll learn from Jesus and receive the amazing work he did to save us from sin and death. Download the day reading plan here and read along each day in Lent. Sermons on Sundays will also be based on the last days of Jesus in the Gospel of John.

March 5th – John 12:1-8

March 12th – John 14:1-14 (There Is Room In The Big House)

March 19th – John 13:1-17

March 26th – John 14:15-31

April 2nd – John 15:1-17

April 9th – John 12:12-19

Ash Wednesday Worship

This Wed, Mar 1 is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent for Christians around the world. Lent is a season before Easter when we humble ourselves before the LORD and reflect on why we need a Savior. I invite you to join me for a penitent worship service this Wednesday evening at 7pm. Nursery care (for ages 0-3) will be provided. The imposition of ashes will be offered at the beginning of service and we will also receive holy communion.

“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” Psalm 51:10

Pastor Matt

The blood of Christ breaks down strongholds and barriers that separate us. The Apostle Paul said, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” On Maundy Thursday, we look closely at Jesus’ prayer for unity. His blood unites us in a common purpose, to sacrificially love our neighbor.
