Help Needed With Decorating the Church for Christmas
We will be decorating the church for Christmas on Sat, Nov 26 from 9 am-Noon.  We could use some strong men to help with the Christmas trees. Set the tone with your family for this Christmas season by keeping Jesus front and center. Join us for breakfast, live nativity, craft, music, and a story on Sat, Dec 3 from 10:00-11:30am in the Solid Rock Lodge. Please invite your family, friends, and neighbors. Prepare Your Hearts for Christmas Women’s Event
Please join us on Tue, Dec 6, 6:30-8:30pm., when Preparing Our Hearts For Christmas Presents… Why Christmas Trees? Get ready for Christmas with this special women’s event filled with fellowship, faith filled message  and a holiday cookie exchange. Cost is $5 per person. Please bring 3 dozen cookies—2 dozen for the exchange and 1 dozen for sharing. Please be sure and sign up on the Connection Card this morning if you will be attending. Children’s Christmas Musical Potluck
Come one, come all!  Come kick off the Christmas season with “A King Is Coming To Town,” presented by the LOL Kids Music and Drama Teams. This charming musical will be presented on Sun, Dec 11 at 5pm in the Family Life Center. Just who is this King? Please join us as the town of Rumor’s Mill discovers just who this King is. Potluck dinner will follow. Please bring a dish to share.

Serve the Community with Kairos Torch Ministry
Kairos Torch is an ecumenical ministry made up of volunteers that share the love of Christ with the young men (13-20 years old) at the Illinois Youth Center in St. Charles by conducting a spiritual retreat weekend at the youth center. If you want a short term mission trip that will bring you joy, help you grow spiritually, and fulfill some of what Christ has asked each of us to do, then you need not travel farther than St. Charles. No special skills required just the prompting of the Holy Spirit and a willingness to be used by God. Give Thanks at Our Annual Thanksgiving Eve Worship Service
Save the date for our annual Thanksgiving Eve service on Wed, Nov 23 at 7pm. There will be a special testimony from one of our members who has experienced God’s faithfulness this year. This is a full service with communion. Cider and dessert will follow. Nursery care will be provided. Give thanks to the LORD for he is good; his love endures forever!

Lord of Life wants to help the entire congregation deepen their walk with Jesus so they can connect people with Jesus and each other. In this survey we ask that you assess yourself on the various subjects so we can begin to understand the pulse of our congregation and identify specific areas to focus on in 2017. Lazarus House Thanksgiving Feast
Lazarus House warmly invites you to join its staff, guests, and many supporters at our annual Thanksgiving Feast to be held Thur, Nov 24, at the Salvation Army St. Charles Tri-City Corps, 1710 S. 7th Ave., in St. Charles. The event will run from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm with dining beginning at noon. For those able to cook, a dish to pass is most appreciated. Food should arrive ready to serve between 11:30am and 11:45am in a disposable container. Needed dishes and supplies are posted on their website at www.lazarushouseonline.com. There is no cost to attend, but we would greatly appreciate a courtesy call or email letting us know if you are able to contribute a dish and/or plan on attending. Support our November Mission of the Month
Faithlife Ministries was founded in 2001 by former Lord of Life members, Barry and Kim Voss. It is a ministry dedicated to training and equipping pastors and church leaders in Africa, Asia, Latin American and Eastern Europe. This year, Faithlife’s MCL training material has now reached 56 nations. Barry recently returned from Estonia where he trained 23 Lutheran pastors. South Sudan is currently holding the first ever MCL training to 81 pastors and leaders in the city of Mingkaman. All loose change this month will go to support Faithlife Ministries.

Basic Training for Confirmation
Get trained on the basics of faith and life. There are four sessions: 1) Discovering the Bible, 2) Encountering Jesus, 3) Living on Purpose, and 4) Searching for Truth. Completion of all four sessions is an expectation for confirmation. For more on confirmation go to www.lolchurch.net/confirmation or contact Brian at (630) 513-5325 x140. Basic Training sessions are offered once/month on Saturdays from 9am-12pm. The next session will be “Searching for Truth” on Sat, Dec 10 in the youth room. No sign up necessary. Just show up!
