Summer in the Psalms Handouts
Have you missed any Sundays this summer? If so, you might have missed an insert about the Psalms in the bulletin that was provided by Pastor Matt. The inserts, including the Summer in the Psalms Reading Plan, Christ in the Psalms and Psalms by the Numbers, are available on the Connect Cart in the Lobby. Feel free to take one and use it as a resource as you read the Psalms.

Summer in the Psalms Series Extended for August
The Summer in the Psalms series has been extremely well received. The current sermon series will be extended through August. Considering there are 150 Psalms, we’ll have a lot to talk about!

Come and Be a Part of the Comfort Dog Ministry
We are in need of a weekday handler for Chloe. This is a wonderful opportunity to bring the love of Christ to the lost, lonely, and joyful people of our city, region and nation. Please consider becoming a handler that will be trained and ready to “Go into all the world and Preach the Good News to all creation” Mark 16:15. Ladies! Women’s Ministry Invites You to “Walk and Talk”
Ladies, let’s take hold of the beautiful summer weather and get together for Walk and Talk. We’ll at various locations to walk, talk, and enjoy fellowship with each other. Each walk will end with a treat at a local ice cream shop. What better way to enjoy an evening out with friends. The last Walk and Talk will be Mon, Aug 15. We will meet at 6:30pm in Geneva outside of Kilwins Ice Cream store .The event will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather. New Member Welcome
We’ll welcome new members on Sun, Aug 7 at both services. Please introduce yourself to them and extend them a warm welcome. Membership at Lord of Life is an important part of discipleship. It clearly lays out the expectations of the church and it’s members. Membership engenders commitment and all members (over 18 years of age) have voting privileges to exercise at the two annual voter’s meetings. The next new member class will be in the fall.

Coming Soon: Fall Ministry Guide
Ever wondered if there is an easy way to know what’s going to be offered in ministry for the next season? The Fall Ministry Guide will help you learn what’s coming up for ministry. Expect to receive the guide in August so you can carefully read and take the next steps to grow in your faith as a family and individual. Included will be info about Bible studies, serving events, special events, sermon series, small groups, youth ministry, children’s ministry, mission trips and much more. Support Our July Mission of the Month
Lutheran Church Charities (LCC), located in Northbrook, works throughout the United States and internationally responding to those suffering and in need with the mercy, compassion, presence and proclamation of Jesus Christ. LCC is the home of the K-9 Comfort Dogs and L.E.R.T. (Lutheran Early Response Team). This month, all loose change given will support LCC, Chloe and our L.E.R.T. ministry here at Lord of Life.

Lord of Life will have a float in the parade this August. The parade will be on Fri, August 19. Sign up on the Connection Card and help us hand out items to the crowd with details about our church! Need Baptism?
One of our members was baptized last Sunday and it was a special event to witness God working to make disciples. If you or someone you know (even an infant) needs to be baptized, contact Pastor Matt to sit down with him and discuss this amazing gift from our Lord. New Intern at Lord of Life!
Lord of Life member Nick Acosta (a recent graduate of NIU) is our new intern at Lord of Life. He’ll will serve mainly with Brian Zielke and focus his attention primarily on youth ministry. He will also help with marketing, social media, updating the website, producing videos and much more. You’ll see him around more during the summer and school year! Pray for Nick and his time here to be fruitful both for him and the Lord!
