Weekly Connect for Sun, Dec 17, 2017

Preparing for Worship
This Sun, Dec 17, we’ll look carefully at the three angel encounters to Joseph in his dreams to prepare him for the birth of his son Jesus. What can we learn about God from these three angel encounters. Read Matthew 1:20-25, 2:13-23. There will also be a baptism at our 10am service this Sunday! See you Sunday at 8:30 or 10am!

Christmas Eve Worship Service Times!
This year, Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday. Our Christmas Eve worship times on Sun, Dec 24 will be at 10am, 3pm and 5pm. They will be identical services, except the Lord’s Supper will only be offered at the 10am service. There will be no Christmas Day services this year. We’ll sing traditional hymns and a few contemporary songs, hear a message that applies Christmas to today.

Train Depot Community Outreach

This past Wed, Dec 13 we met at the LaFox Metra Station at 5:45am to hand out chocolate candies and Christmas Eve invitations to our local commuters. We added a new dimension this year! Christmas music! Darrin Lee brought a portable speaker and played Christmas music as the commuters arrived at the station. It helped a lot to set the mood and to prepare hearts to receive their gift package. Our team prayed together for just one person to receive the message and come to meet Jesus the baby of Christmas to become King of kings and Lord of lords. Merry Christmas! Thanks to the team members who came out early to serve and share God’s love with the community.
