Our Awana Clubs meet on Wednesdays from 6:15-8pm during the school year (Sept-April). Kick off for Awana Clubs will be on Wed, Sept 6. We are asking that parents plan to stay for the whole time on the first night to meet the leaders and learn about our Awana program. LOL Kid’s Choir Begins Sept 13

Mystery Retreat for Upperclassmen
Up for the Unknown is a mystery retreat for high school upperclassmen (juniors & seniors) that will take place from Sat, Sep 9 through Sun, Sep 10. The location and the activities will be unknown to the participants. All they need to know is that it is guaranteed to be a good time! Parents of eligible youth will be contacted by Brian Zielke to discuss the classified information regarding the retreat’s top secret location and details. Dare to Share – LIVE
This one day outreach event for youth (grades 8-12) is an incredible way to reach our communities and schools by praying, serving, and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. It will be simulcast live from Denver, CO to over 60 locations across the United States and Puerto Rico on Sat, Sep 23. We will go to Harvest New Beginnings in Oswego, IL. Cost is $35/person. Elburn Food Pantry Dinner
We have a 5th Thursday this month so we’re providing a dinner for our dear friends who use the Elburn Food Pantry. Fall Bible Studies for Women
Join us this fall as we offer the following Bible studies for women. Books and additional information will be available at the Connection Cart for you to look at.

Elburn Days Parade • Fri, Aug 18
Elburn hosts a weekend of fun and festivities in August called Elburn Days! Our church participates in the parade on Friday night. We get to hand out info about the church (including the gospel message), goodies and meet the community. Come join us on Fri, Aug 18 at 5:15pm as we walk the parade route together. Fashion Show at Lord of Life Church!
Sat, Aug 19, Administer Justice, an Illinois Christian non-profit, will be hosting a fashion show featuring fabulous fall fashions for women from CAbi. The event will be held at Lord of Life from10:30am-12:30pm. Tickets are $35 which includes brunch. Proceeds from the event will benefit the life changing work of Administer Justice, which provides free legal assistance, financial counseling and legal education to low income residents. Calling All Quilters!
Quilters of the King is a mission group that makes quilts for HELPS, Lazarus House and Lifespring and other groups. We welcome anyone that wants to learn or sew with us. We meet on Thursday morning at 9am. We sew , have a devotion and share with each other. You do not have to belong to Lord of Life to participate. Support our August Mission of the Month 
Refuge for Women, our new mission partner, provides a place of escape for the trafficked and exploited women. They recently opened a Chicago area home in Oct 2016. It is a Christ-centered safe place for residents to experience healing from trauma, sobriety and rebuilding trust with a 3-phase program that lasts up to 12 months. All loose change this month will support Refuge for Women.

Connect with Your Family at a Family Camp!
For the past few years, the Fair family has attended Lake Geneva Youth Camp’s (LGYC) Labor Day Family Camp. They invite you to join them! This year, it is the evening of Sept 1 through Sept 4. This is a great way for the family to reconnect together, spouse’s to spend time together and kids to have fun in organized activities (based on age). Plus all meals are provided as part of the cost.
