Basic Training for Confirmation
6th-12th graders, get trained on the basics of faith and life. There are four sessions: 1) Discovering the Bible, 2) Encountering Jesus, 3) Living on Purpose, and 4) Searching for Truth. Children’s Christmas Musical Auditions Start Tue, Sept 8
Lights! Camera! Action! Drama auditions for the Lord of Life Children’s Christmas Musical will be held on Tue, Sept 8 from 6-7:30pm and Sat, Sept 12 from 10am-12pm. Auditions are open for kids 3rd-12th grade. Participants will be asked to prepare a vocal solo and read from a dramatic excerpt. Children’s Choir Starts Wed, Sept 9
Come and sing with us! All children are invited to join the LOL Children’s Choir! Choir will meet each Wednesday from 5:30pm – 6:15pm starting on Sept 9. Weekday Discipleship for Children (AWANA) Starts Wed, Sept 9
Children ages 3 (preschool) to 5th grade are invited to Awana to grow as disciples of Jesus starting Wed, Sept 9 at 6:15pm-8pm. Parents can register their children online at lolchurch.net/awana or at opening night. Children memorize Scripture, learn Biblical principles through fun activities and grow in community with others. Learn How to Deal with Tough Questions
The Northern IL District Lutheran Layman’s League is combining its 2015 Convention with the Mission U 201 workshop being held on Sat, Sept 12, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church (63 Fernwood Road, Montgomery). Embrace the Unknown on a Mystery Retreat
Up for the Unknown is a mystery retreat for high school upperclassmen (juniors & seniors) that will take place from Sat, Sept 12 through Sun, Sept 13. The location and the activities will be unknown to the participants. All they need to know is that it is guaranteed to be a good time! Parents of eligible youth will be contacted by Brian Zielke to discuss the classified info regarding the retreat’s top secret location and details. Mission Possible in downtown Aurora is dedicated to holistically meeting the human needs of the Aurora’s underserved people in Christ’s name. They provide for both physical and spiritual needs, offering Bible studies, prayer, addictions recovery, mentoring, counseling, tutoring, legal advice and Christian fellowship along with free medical, orthopedic, vision, chiropractic care and physical therapy. Presentation of Crosses to 3, 4, and 5 Year Olds
On Sept 27 at the 10am service our church will recognize and celebrate the beginning of our children’s formal Christian education by presenting all 3, 4, and 5 year old children with the gift of a cross. One of the most important messages to teach young children is that Jesus died on a cross to take away our sins. Please let us know by Fri, Sep 25 so we can plan to give your child a cross.
