This Sun, Nov 8, you are invited to a potluck lunch with our own missionary partner Christobel from India. We will meet for lunch in the Solid Rock Lodge immediately following the 10am service. Come as you are and if you want to bring an item to share for lunch that’s great too.

Join Us for Thanksgiving Eve Worship
Join us on Wed, Nov 25 at 7pm for Thanksgiving Eve worship to praise the LORD and celebrate His goodness! He has given us everything that we need including forgiveness, life, and salvation in Christ Jesus. There will be special fellowship time after worship to enjoy pie and apple cider.

Help Decorate for Christmas

New Member Class is Next Sunday!
Start Here is the new membership class being offered on Sun, Nov 15 from 11:30am-1:30pm. It’s also for anyone who has questions about the church or simply wants to know more about Lord of Life. Pastor Matt will share the history, mission, vision and values of the church. Membership at Lord of Life means that you’re ready to make this your church home and contribute to fulfill the mission of Connecting people with Jesus and each other! The voter’s meeting will take place immediately following the 10am worship time on Sun, Dec 13. Approval of the 2016 financial budget as well as updates from the Elders, Executive Board and Pastor Matt will be discussed.

Save the Date—Christmas Worship Times
Be sure to join us for Christmas Eve worship on Thu, Dec 24 at 5pm or 7pm. Worship on Christmas Day, Fri, Dec 25 will be at 10am. Communion will be celebrated on Christmas Day. Invite your friends and neighbors to come celebrate the birth of Christ the Lord!

Join Us for Chili, Cocoa, and Caroling on Thu, Dec 10 at 6 p.m.
We are going to spread Christmas cheer to our home bound Lord of Life members, but first we will start with a chili cook-off dinner (child friendly options available). You don’t have to bring chili to participate. After dinner, we will be leave to visit our home bound friends and sing Christmas carols.  Please sign up on the Connection Card. Ladies, Prepare Your Heart for Christmas with a Cookie Exchange
Ladies of all ages including daughters are invited to come together on Fri, Dec 4 from 6:30-8:30pm to prepare your heart for Christmas. Enjoy music, refreshments and a cookie exchange and an encouraging message to bless your Christian walk! $5/person – pay at the door. Sign up on the Connection Card. Have Breakfast with Baby Jesus

Sign Up for the Men’s Retreat
Pull out your calendar and mark down Nov 20-22 for an opportunity to slow down, unplug, and reconnect with God and other guys. We are going to Lutheran Outdoor Ministries Center in Oregon, IL. Basic Training for Confirmation
Get trained on the basics of faith and life. There are four sessions: 1) Discovering the Bible, 2) Encountering Jesus, 3) Living on Purpose, and 4) Searching for Truth. Basic Training sessions are offered once/month on Saturdays from 9am-12pm. The next session will be “Living on Purpose” on Sat, Nov 14 in the youth room. No sign up necessary. Just show up!

Donate Blood at Lord of Life on Sun, Nov 29
Our next blood drive is scheduled for Sun, Nov 29 from 7:30am—Noon. Signups in the lobby begin Sun, Nov 15, or go online now at ht.heartlandbc.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/2027215 to sign up. This is an opportunity for us, as a church family, to help other families in need. We do this in the name of Jesus, who gave His life for us. November is Haitian Missions Month
This month we support our two Haiti Missions in Port-au-Prince.  Mission Assembly Chretienne is led by Pastor Ernst Mesidor who also serves twelve branch churches in the surrounding mountain villages. Bon Rapos Orphanage is led by Yolanda Thervil, known as Mama Yol. Her orphanage is currently raising 40 orphan girls. This December we have an LOL mission team traveling to Haiti. All loose change for this month will go to support both Haitian missions.

Serve at Beautiful U Ministries on Mon, Nov 16
Please join us for an opportunity to serve at Beautiful U Resale Shop on Mon, Oct 19. We will meet at 6:15pm every third Monday of the month at the shop (112 N. Main St., Elburn) to help sort, organize, and price donations. Beautiful U is one of our official mission partners. They help provide Christian resources and housing to young moms in the local area. Serve at Lazarus House and Help the Poor
Every 3rd Thursday and 4th Friday Lord of Life serves at Lazarus House. This month the dates to serve are Thu, Nov 19 and Fri, Nov 22. If you’d like to provide a meal, bring a beverage, provide a side dish, make lunches, or spend the night, there’s something you can do to help those who are less fortunate than us.
