Weekly Connect for Sun, Jun 21, 2015

Father’s Day is this Sun, June 21
This Sunday is a special day to worship your Father in heaven. It’s also a special day to remember your own dad. Did you know the fourth commandment is the only one with a promise (Exodus 20:12), “Honor your father and mother, so that you may live long is the land the LORD your God is giving you.” God has a special word for all dads in 1 John 2:14, “I write to you, fathers, because you have known him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God lives in you, and you have overcome the evil one.” Happy Father’s Day and see you this Sunday!

Flood Relief
Our area experienced torrential rains and many people have damage to their property. Just this week, we helped a family whose house was flooded. We know there still might be a need, so we are assembling teams to help serve and cleanup in the name of Christ. Do you need help? Do you need financial assistance? Are you willing to help? If you answered yes to any of these questions, please contact Curt Berg at cberg@lolchurch.net or (630) 513-5325.

New Member Welcome is next Sun, June 28
14 new people have joined our church in June. The new members will be welcomed on Sun, June 28 at both services. What a joy it is to greet, give thanks and welcome these new members into our church family! New members will have their photo taken after each service. If you’re not a new member but haven’t had your photo taken, please go to the Cup of Life Café after either service on Sun, June 28 to get your photo taken. If you are a new member, please also pick up your nametag before worship.
