Serve the Homeless in Our Community
There is a need for more overnight volunteers to be “on call” at the Lazarus House in St. Charles. Last month 50% of the volunteers couldn’t make it. If you could help by being placed on the “on call” list that would help immensely. Requirements are to report in by 9pm and sleep the night. Wake up at 5:30am and leave by 7am. There is an overlap of staff so if the times need to be tweaked, that’s a possibility as well. Please use your Connection Card to let us know you’re interested. We’ll be in touch.

Support Our July Mission of the Month
This month highlights Lord of Life’s own Comfort Dog, Chloe. As a trained comfort dog, Chloe interacts with children and adults in our local public schools, IYC prison, Lazarus House, nursing homes, hospitals, events and in disaster response situations. A comfort dog is a friend who brings a calming influence, allowing people to open up their hearts and receive help for what is affecting them. Chloe’s ministry opens a door to share the good news of Jesus Christ. Chloe is part of the K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry of Lutheran Church Charities. For more info, please contact Sandi Kessler at sandi.kessler@sbcglobal.net
