Mission Sunday! Come Hear about Haiti and Ghana Trips!
On Sun, Jan 31, members from the Haiti and Ghana mission trips will share what God did on their trips and together we’ll be inspired to continue to preach the gospel all over the world. In addition to updates during worship, there will be a more detailed report from each team after the 10am worship service. Come enjoy a potluck lunch and hear the good things that God has done.

New “Man Up” Group
Join Tino Gutierrez and other men on Wednesdays starting January 27 from 6:30-8pm in the corner office for an 8-week study and discussion based on the book “Man Up: Becoming a Godly Man In An UnGodly World” by Jody Burkeen. Participants will be encouraged to “man up” personally, in marriage, in fatherhood, in the Church, at work, with accountability, and making disciples. The cost is $10 for the book. Join Us for a Potluck Lunch With Missionary Anand Thandu
Join us for fellowship and a potluck with Anand Thandu from Children of Faith in India on Sun, Jan 17 at 11:30am in the Cup of Life. Anand will be joining us for worship and then the potluck to let all who attend know Please contact Robin Mathieu at (630) 715-2198 if you are able to bring a dish to pass. All are welcome to attend and hear the wonderful things God is doing for Children of Faith.

Ladies Crafting Day—Sat, Jan 30, 8am-8pm
Ladies, bring your favorite crafting supplies and come join us for a day of fun! We will be working in the lower level, so use the back parking lot. Each crafter will have half of an 8ft table. There will be a limited supply of electrical outlets so let us know if you need one. We have invited some local ladies to come in and offer us some workshops on things like scrapbooking and card making. If you have a craft that you would like to share, contact Mary or Becky to get a time slot and give a description of the craft/project. Sign up on the Connection Card and details will be emailed to you. Invite your crafting friends! The cost is $25 and covers the food for the day (continental breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and bottled water. Please bring a snack to share. Winter Play Dates
Join fellow moms at Lord of Life for indoor play dates this winter. Moms can enjoy fellowship while their kids play together. We will meet the second Monday of the month from 9:15 to 11am in the nursery. For more info contact Amy Blackford at amy.blackford@gmail.com.

Support our January Mission of the Month 
H.E.L.P.S. (Help, Encouragement, Love, Prayer and Salvation), located in the Valley View neighborhood of St. Charles, was founded by Angelo Valdez and is a Christian ministry that provides transitional housing, food, discipleship and direction for people who struggle with life-controlling issues like drugs, alcohol and emotional problems. The ministry has grown and now includes a community center, a chapel, a food pantry and a shelter.  All the loose change this month will go to support H.E.L.P.S.

Start Here is the new membership class being offered on Sun, Jan 31 from 11:30am-1:30pm. It’s also for anyone who has questions about the church or simply wants to know more about Lord of Life. Pastor Matt will share the history, mission, vision and values of the church. Membership at Lord of Life means that you’re ready to make this your church home and contribute to fulfill the mission of Connecting people with Jesus and each other! Get Trained to Serve After Natural Disasters Strike
For anyone interested in joining the Lord of Life  L.E.R.T. (Lutheran Early Response Team) and serving others after natural disasters occur. Online registration is now open for the Sat, Jan 30, 2016 (9:30am-1:30pm) L.E.R.T. Basic Training class which will be held at Lord of Life. This class is mandatory to participate in disaster response with L.E.R.T. Ministry. Registration fee of $35.00 includes training, vest, manual and ID credentials needed to enter disaster areas. Preschool 2016-2017 Pre-registration
Lord of Life Preschool is starting pre-registration for the 2016-2017 school year. There are forms available outside the preschool office. Complete the form and return it to the preschool office as classes will be filled in according to date/time of form received. This will place your child on a list for the class(es) indicated. You will receive registration forms in February.

Save the Date—Women’s Spring Tea Saturday March 5 12:30pm to 3:00pm

Basic Training for Confirmation
Get trained on the basics of faith and life. There are four sessions: 1) Discovering the Bible, 2) Encountering Jesus, 3) Living on Purpose, and 4) Searching for Truth. Basic Training sessions are offered once/month on Saturdays from 9am-12pm. The next session will be “Encountering Jesus” on Sat, Feb 13 in the youth room. No sign up necessary. Just show up!
