New! 20-Something Ministry!
Several 20-somethings collaborated on Monday evening about starting a new 20-something ministry at Lord of Life. This is targeted for 18-29 year olds (post-high school). The opening night is this Mon, Dec 14 at 7pm in the large conference room upstairs. This group will meet weekly on Monday nights at 7pm even during Christmas break and the holiday season. Activities will include group discussion, servant events, hangouts, Bible studies, fun activities outside the church and more. Serve at Lazarus House and Help the Poor
Lord of Life serves at Lazarus House every 3rd Thursday and 4th Friday . This month the dates to serve are Thu, Dec 17 and Fri, Dec 25. If you’d like to provide a meal, bring a beverage, provide a side dish, make lunches, or spend the night, there’s something you can do to help those who are less fortunate than us. Train Depot Outreach Event
Our annual event to bless the commuters at the Metra LaFox Street Train Station is ready for boarding. Be sure to join us for Christmas Eve worship on Thu, Dec 24 at 3pm, 5pm or 7pm. Worship on Christmas Day, Fri, Dec 25 will be at 10am. Communion will be celebrated on Christmas Day. Invite your friends to celebrate the birth of Christ!

New Ladies Bible Study Coming in January
Join us in the new year for The 7 Experiment by Jen Hatmaker. Disturbed by her families excess Jen writes about their unique social and spiritual decision to live by 7 rules and reducing material possessions and distractions in 7 areas (food, clothes, spending, media, possessions, waste and stress) in order to connect with a greatly increased God. This class is offered on Wednesday mornings at 9:15am beginning Jan 6 or you can join the Tuesday evenings class that begins on Jan 12 at 7pm. Voter’s Meeting Sun, Dec 13
The voter’s meeting will take place immediately following the 10am worship time on Sun, Dec 13. Approval of the 2016 financial budget as well as updates from the Elders, Executive Board and Pastor Matt will be discussed.

Children’s Christmas Musical Potluck
Come one, come all!  Come kick off the Christmas season with “A Christmas Carol,” presented by the LOL Children’s Music and Drama Teams. This charming musical will be presented on Sun, Dec 13 at 5pm in the Family Life Center. Potluck dinner will follow. Please bring a dish to share.

Participate in the Prayer Vigil for International Mission Teams
There will be a special “sending” during worship on Sun, Dec 13 at both services. In addition, there will be a prayer vigil for both the Haiti and Ghana mission teams while the teams are on mission. We will have signup sheets for the prayer vigil in December. The goal is to have a person prayer every hour starting Dec 27 through Jan 4. Serve at Beautiful U Ministries on Mon, Dec 21
Please join us for an opportunity to serve at Beautiful U Resale Shop on Mon, Dec 21. We will meet at 6:15pm every third Monday of the month at the shop (112 N. Main St., Elburn) to help sort, organize, and price donations. Beautiful U is one of our official mission partners. They help provide Christian resources and housing to young moms in the local area. L.E.R.T. Training Coming to Lord of Life
For anyone interested in joining the Lord of Life  L.E.R.T. (Lutheran Early Response Team) and serving others after natural disasters occur. Online registration is now open for the Sat, Jan 30, 2016 (9:30am-1:30pm) L.E.R.T. Basic Training class which will be held at Lord of Life. This class is mandatory to participate in disaster response with L.E.R.T. Ministry. Registration fee of $35.00 includes training, vest, manual and ID credentials needed to enter disaster areas.
