Lutheran High School
New Lutheran High School Progress is Tangible – Over the past two months completion of many important processes has positioned the new Lutheran high school well for the work of the coming year.  The transition in governance is complete, negotiations with Otter Creek Water Reclamation District have led to soon-to-begin construction on water and sewer pipelines for the area, and the name of the school has been announced.  Learn all about these exciting accomplishments by visiting www.newlutheranhighschool.org or by reading the article to be sent for inclusion in your next church newsletter.

Quilters of the King 
We are preparing for Christmas for the wee little ones coming into this world. We have nine baby quilts for the pregnancy centers in Elgin completed. Our supplies are always being depleted so if you can donate fabric, sheets in good condition or medium and large safety pins we would be ever so thankful. We will be meeting every Thursday in September at 9:00 am. Everyone is welcome and we love to have people just drop in to see us working. You don’t know how to sew, that’s okay we can find a job for you. We have a devotion, snack and lots of laughter. Call Pamela McLane for more information. 630 879-0989.

See Through the Scriptures
Pastor Phil will lead a Crossways Course entitled See Through the Scriptures starting September 15.  This course serves as an introductory overview of the Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation.  The course will be offered at three different times on Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm, Thursday morning at 6:45am (at Papa G’s, Elburn), and Thursday morning at 9:30am.  Their is a registration fee of $20 that will cover the course materials.

Have you ever wondered what Heaven is really going to be like?  Do you want to know how to be sure you will get there?  And what will it be like when we meet Jesus face-to-face?  Well, here is your opportunity to separate fact from fiction about this vitally important topic.  This life-changing Bible-based course is for adults and will meet Thursday evenings beginning September 16th-November 11 from 7-9pm at the church.

The Book of Acts

Description: The Book of Acts – “Boldly Going Where No Believer Had Gone Before”
We will use only the Bible in a chapter by chapter journey through the Book of Acts. Emphasis will be placed upon use of verse cross references to other parts of the Bible and use of concordance to deepen personal Bible study and understanding. No previous Bible study experience is necessary.

AWANA kicks-off this fall with the first class beginning Wednesday, September 8, 6:15-8pm. If you have not registered your children yet, please do so on line at lolchurch.net.

Children’s Christmas Musical Auditions

Come and Sing With Us!
All children are invited to join LOL Celebration Praise Teams! Choirs meet each Wednesday from 5:30 – 6:15 PM starting on Wednesday, September 8th.  Children are welcome to join New Beginnings (Grades K-4) or Friendship Team (Grades 5-8).  Choirsters will be participating in the fun and worship-filled LOL Christmas Musical.  Come and be ready to burst into jubilant song!  We are currently looking for a Cherubs Choir Director (ages 3-5). Life Choices Center Mobile Unit
Today we will be hosting a very special event, and a unique opportunity for the women of the Fox Valley area, who think they might be pregnant, but are not yet under a doctor’s care. The Life Choices Center will have their Mobile Ultrasound Unit and equipment at the church today to offer pregnancy diagnosis and ultrasound services at no cost to the women of the greater Fox Valley community. Life Choices (formerly The Life Center) opened its doors in June 1996 to provide a safe environment for women experiencing unplanned pregnancy. The Center provides emotional, spiritual, and material support through a professionally certified, non judgmental staff.  The Life Center diagnostic services will begin at 9 a.m. and will end when all women have been seen. If you know of, or are a woman who would like to take advantage of this opportunity, there is no appointment necessary and no charge. Please come and bring a friend.
