Why “The Way”?

The Way is one of the earliest known labels attached to followers of Jesus Christ. Believers would be referred to as belonging to the Way or followers of the Way (first mentioned in Acts 9:2). This was recognized as a term for the disciples of Jesus Christ even before they were called Christians (Acts 11:26).

The Way signifies a chosen path or a direction for life that is marked by God. In Matthew 7:14, it is referred to as the narrow road, which leads to life and only few travel. Those who are on the Way are there because they have encountered the love and transforming power of God through faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Way and the Truth and the Life (John 14:6).
