October Mission Connection
Every year we participate in the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Collection. This year is their 20 years of Sharing GOD’s Greatest Gift. Girls and boys in more than 150 countries have experienced the joy of Christmas and heard the Good News of Jesus Christ, thanks to caring people like you who have packed over 100 million shoebox gifts for Operation Christmas Child since 1993. Praise GOD for how He uses these simple gifts to spread the Gospel to the far corners of the earth. This morning we’ll hear more about this outreach effort through a video we’ll watch as we collect our offerings.

Feed My Starving Children
Our next scheduled event is coming soon. Mark your calendar for Tuesday, October 22nd from 8:00pm to 9:30pm. Let us know  you’re coming by signing up on your Connection Card.

Monthly Food Drive for Elburn Food Pantry
Each month Lord of Life Church will partner with Lord of Life Preschool for a monthly food drive for our own Elburn Food Pantry. To encourage the children in the art of giving they are taking one marble out of the “need” jar and place it in the “give” jar to show their act of giving. We’ll do the same with the two jars in front of the Mission Display Board. Our goal each month will be one item per LoL family or about 205 items. This month (October) we are collecting Thanksgiving Items-stuffing, cranberries, bread mixes, vegetables, gravy, etc, are due November 4.  If every family brings in just one item, our goal will be reached…any additional items will help us exceed the goal!

Quilters of the King
We continue to make baby quilts for the pregnancy centers. We have 10 finished. We received a thank you note from the lady that we made the prayer quilt for who has cancer. Thank you Lord for all the opportunities you put before us. Praise God to whom all blessings flow. Come join us on Thursday mornings for devotions, sewing and wonderful snacks, laughter and fun. Sewing is not a requirement and we always can use another pair of hands to do God’s work. Call Pamela McLane, 1.630.879.0989 for more information.
