Mother’s Day Brunch
Join us for a special Mother’s Day brunch on Sun, May 11 from 9am-Noon. Enjoy good food, fellowship and avoid the restaurant rush all while supporting Lord of Life’s youth ministry. Free will donations will be accepted.

Lord of Life Men’s Golf Starts Monday
Enjoy golf and fellowship on Monday nights at Hughes Creek Golf Club beginning this Mon, May 5th—Mon, Aug 25. Tee-times start at 5:15pm. Cost for 9 holes is $24 to ride or $17 to walk. For more info please contact Scott Cole at (630) 918-3014.

Quilters of the King
We are in need of steam irons in good condition to iron our quilts before they are packaged for delivery. We will continue our quest to make quilts for Washington, IL, till June and then we’ll be making baby quilts for the pregnancy centers. We thank God for all the helping hands he has sent us. Join Us for the “Walkers & Talkers Book Club”
Join us for a new book club while exploring local hiking trails at Campton Nature Trails. We will start with the book In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day by Mark Batterson, the same author who wrote The Circle Maker. The book centers around the story of Benaiah in 2 Samuel 23: 20-21. The main premise of the book is that God uses our past experiences to shape us and prepare us for future “God-ordained opportunities.” This book club is open to adults of any age, from young adult to the oldest adult and to those with any level of walking preferences, from the casual stroller to the fast-paced walkers. We will meet Wednesdays from 6:15-7:45pm at Campton Nature Trails from May 7 through June 25. Men’s Fight Club
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes” (Eph 6:10-11). Fight Club is back for another four weeks to complete the full armor of God. If you missed last Sat, you can still pick up the Shield of Faith this Wed, May 7 from 6:30-8pm. Then this Sat, May 10 from 7:30-9am, we will wield the sword of the Spiritin the Solid Rock Lodge.

Come Meet Our Missionary from India
Join us for a special dinner on Tue, May 13 at 5:30pm in the Solid Rock Lodge with our mission partner Anand Thandu from Children of Faith Orphanage, in Vizag, India. It will be a special time to celebrate the work God is doing in India and pray for the salvation of many people in Vizag area. Please RSVP on the Connection Card today. May Mission of the Month
Gilgal Gospel Mission in Chennai India, reaches the remote Hindu villages with the good news of Jesus Christ. Gilgal’s Director, Christobel Russelliah and her late husband, started their mission 40 years ago. Today, Gilgal has a church, a Theological Seminary, a Children’s Home and a school. They have built and continue to nurture 28 churches in the countryside. In 2013, a new Children’s Home was built and a new library. All loose change given during offering in May will go to support Gilgal Gospel Mission. For more info about Gilgal please contact the mission board at

Monthly Donations to Benefit Elburn Food Pantry
Each month Lord of Life Church and Preschool partner for a monthly food drive benefiting the Elburn Food Pantry. This month we will collect personal care products such as toothpaste, soaps, shampoos, feminine care, deodorant, etc.Due Date: Mon, May 20. Drop off items at the mission bulletin board. Mission Possible Shoe Drive
Help show Christ’s love by donating your used shoes. Please tie your shoes together and toss them in the bin located in the lobby now through Sat, May 10.  Lord of Life is partnering with Mission Possible, a Christian-based non-profit in Aurora, IL that provides free medical, vision and dental care. This shoe drive will raise the necessary funds to expand their facility while providing shoes for people in Haiti, Honduras and parts of Africa. Start cleaning your closets today! Come Serve at Saint Matthew Soup Kitchen
On Thu, May 15 we will go to Saint Matthew’s Soup Kitchen in Chicago to help feed the homeless. We will leave the church at 10:30am and return at 3pm. Saint Matthew’s is in the Pilsen area of Chicago where they serve hundreds of people every Tuesday and Thursday. Drivers are needed. Also, we want to take food with us so it would be a big help if you can bring chicken legs and thighs, large bags of rice, noodles, large cans of tomatoes, vegetables (canned or frozen), mark the package for Saint Matthew’s and leave it in the main kitchen. We will take them with us. We also would like to give them candy bags so please bring bags of mini chocolate bars. For more info please contact Pamela McLane at (630) 879-0989.

Save the Dates for Vacation Bible School

Ready to be Confirmed?
We have scheduled a Confirmation Sunday to encourage youth to take steps on the path to a personal confession of the Christian faith. We will celebrate confirmations during worship on Sun, May 18. For more info on confirmation at Lord of Life visit

During worship on Sun, May 18 we will recognize and pray for those who have graduated or will be graduating this school year.  If that is you or someone you know, please plan to be there and encourage other graduates to come to worship that day.
