Interested in membership or simply want to know more about Lord of Life Church? Save the date for Sunday, January 26 (there is no football that weekend!). Simple and Convenient Ways to Serve at Lord of Life
Are you willing to serve the Lord one Sunday a month? We have a spot just for you. You can help as an usher, greeter, sound servant, projection servant or nursery volunteer, Solid Rock Lodge server. Ushers help people as they enter worship and greeters welcome people as they enter the church building. Sound and projection servants help run sound and move slides on the screens during the worship services. Nursery volunteers help care and love the youngest people during worship. Solid Rock Lodge servers prepare and serve refreshments for fellowship. We’ll provide you with personal training before you start and answer your questions. It’s a fantastic, convenient and simple way to respond to God’s grace. Your smile and willing attitude will help make Lord of Life a welcoming place to connect people with Jesus. Interested or simply want more info? Contact Pastor Matt at matt@lolchurch.net.

January Mission Connection
The Life Center Pregnancy Services in Elgin provides a safe environment for women experiencing unplanned pregnancies. The Center gives emotional, spiritual and material support through Director, Vivian Maly, and a professionally certified staff. They reach out to the community with the love of Christ, and offer pregnancy diagnosis and ultrasound services at no cost. Programs are provided which help equip mothers to properly nurture their children and to become good stewards of what they have been given.

Quilters of the King Update
Quilters of the King will be starting a new project in January. We will be making quilts for the people downstate that were hit by the tornado. The first family we will be making them for are the boys and wife that lost their husband and father. We could use batting or light weight blankets to fill the quilts. This project we will continue for many months. Paula Price will be delivering them for us. Want to help? Join us. We meet on Thursday morning at 9:00 am. Call Pamela McLane at 630 879 0989 for more information.

Painting the Family Life Center
Want to help increase the sound acoustics in the Family Life Center? We’ll begin the process with a clean paint job. Mark your calendars for either Friday, January 24 or Saturday, January 25. We’ll be preparing the walls and masking the trim on Friday evening. Saturday we’ll bring in the paint crews. To sign-up or if you have other questions contact Marty Coomes 630.546.7191. You may also sign-up on your connection card.

Feed My Starving Children Event Date: Dec 17, 2013
It was a great group and we fed 48 kids for a year! That’s like feeding an entire orphanage for a year! The FMSC staff said we exceeded the time goal ! They were really impressed with how fast the group worked! Our next scheduled event is coming soon. Mark your calendar for Tuesday, January 28 from 8:00 to 9:30pm.

Monthly Food Drive for Elburn Food Pantry
Each month Lord of Life Church will partner with Lord of Life Preschool for a monthly food drive for our own Elburn Food Pantry. To encourage the children in the art of giving they are taking one marble out of the “need” jar and place it in the “give” jar to show their act of giving. We’ll do the same with the two jars in front of the Mission Display Board. Our goal each month will be one item per LoL family or about 205 items. This month (January) we are collecting Soup & Pasta/Rice/Beans-canned soup, Ramen, soup mixes, pastas, rice, beans, etc. If every family brings in just one item, our goal will be reached…any additional items will help us exceed the goal! Due Date: Feb 3
