Announcements for Sunday, May 19

Meet Our Interim Pastor David Thies
Pastor David will be serving Lord of Life as lead pastor as we go through the Call process for our next pastor.  He is also the Senior Pastor at St. Paul Lutheran Church & School in Rockford (since 2003). Before becoming a pastor in 2000 (Faith Lutheran Church in Huntsville, Texas), he was an attorney in Alabama for six years.  Pastor David will be preaching this weekend and the next two Sundays at LOL.  Either Pastor David or another pastor from St. Paul’s will be with us most Sundays through the summer months and potentially beyond.  Our arrangement with Pastor David’s team is that they serve us in a part time and as needed role.  He will often be here for at least one week day, usually Tuesday but again as needed.  If you would like to get in touch with Pastor David, he can be reached at (815) 962-2145 or

Our Next Visit to Saint Matthew Soup Kitchen
We are going again on June 20th and I know it is early to ask for your help but we thought that if we ask early that we could get the ball rolling. We need small candy bars or chocolates to fill 100 bags to hand out. We also would like to make bags with little shampoo’s, conditioner and hand cream in them. They are always in need of chicken parts, which can be put in the freezer at church, just label them . Rice, beans, noodles, large cans of tomatoes, vegetables, and potatoes and onions are also needed. Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth;but she, out of her poverty, put in everything- all had to live on.” Mark 12: 43-44 If you have any questions please call Pamela McLane 630 879-0989.
