TORCH Weekend Update
Blessings and Thank You to all the wonderful people young and old who supported the TORCH weekend at IYC.  $925 was collected to help offset the expenses for the 30 young men and 40 adults that attended.  We only had 65 dozen cookies the night before packing day – but God is good and we packed over 450 dozen by noon on Thursday!  Looks like we can add chocolate chips to the Lord’s fish and bread multiplication!  The posters, placemats, loving hand tracings, prayers and donations made the weekend a success.  The winner of the quilt raffle was Lynn Bremer.

TLC Pregnancy Services – Life Choices
Thanks to all who gave so willingly to the Tree of Life. What a great way you’ve shown a tangible means of assistance.  Remember to pray for these brave expectant moms.

Elburn Food Pantry
Partnering with Lord of Life Preschool collecting different items each month. Our goal is one item per person which translates to 120 for preschool and 280 for the church. We’re anticipating over 400 items again in May. The current items we’re collecting are Rice and Pasta products. We are extending the deadline to the end of the school year which is Tuesday, May 21st. We’re encouraging every student, every member, every attender to just bring one item. Hey, that’s easy. This is our last collection of the school year so let’s go out with a great effort.

Feed My Starving Children (FMSC)

Community Meals
Thank you so much for the wonderful response this past winter in helping stock our refrigerator with meals to share with others in our community.  The freezer is empty (which is a good thing!!!) so please continue to keep in mind those people who could use a meal. There is $$ available to purchase ingredients, if needed.  Please contact Jan Berg (Care Board) 630.818.7532.

Our Next Visit to Saint Matthew Soup Kitchen
We are going again on June 20th and I know it is early to ask for your help but we thought that if we ask early that we could get the ball rolling. We need small candy bars or chocolates to fill 100 bags to hand out. We also would like to make bags with little shampoo’s, conditioner and hand cream in them. They are always in need of chicken parts, which can be put in the freezer at church, just label them . Rice, beans, noodles, large cans of tomatoes, vegetables, and potatoes and onions are also needed.

Graduates!
During services on Sunday, May 19th we will recognize and pray for those who have or will be graduating this school year.  If that is you or someone you know, please plan to be there and encourage other graduates to come to worship that day.
