This weekend we are glad to have Pastor David with us.  Next weekend, September 1 we are served by Pastor Barry Kolb, and Keith Haney leading us on September 8. Once again, we are glad to get feedback as to how well we are serving you in this time that we continue the process for searching for the Lord’s “regular” pastor to come to us.  You are welcome to let an elder know how you feel or if you would rather a pastor, contact the church office or our lead pastor directly, Pastor David, at or by  cell at 815-962-2145.

August Mission Connection
Our Mission Connection for August is AWANA, an after-school Christian program for kids. AWANA helps churches and parents work together to develop spiritually strong children and youth who faithfully follow Jesus Christ. Over 12,000 churches in the U.S., and 13,000 internationally, run AWANA programs that change young lives through Biblical truths. Lord of Life has an AWANA program that meets on Wednesdays from 6:15-8:00pm, starting on September 11th. Check the bulletin for registration information.

Meagan Seals Miracle Baby Fundraiser
We’re halfway to our goal of $3,600. We have a special presentation  planned for September 1st during the offering. There are some great stories to tell. We plan to have the fundraiser run through Sunday, September 8th. Let’s see if we can reach our goal.

Our Last Events for this Summer

Tuesday, August 27th 9:15am – sign up to pick up Elburn Food Pantry Jewel pick up. Also, we’re providing the meal on Thursday, August 29th for those who visit the Elburn Food Pantry on that day. Our menu will be meat and  potatoes, a vegetable and dessert as promised to one of our patrons. Sign up on the connection card on Sunday morning. We’ll contact you with further details after you sign up.

Fun Friends Who Love Furry Fidos
No, you don’t have to have fur to help…just a love of doggies. The LOL Dog Festival on Saturday, September 7th from 11:00-2:00 needs help in several areas. Registration, prize table, food area, dog cake/treat walk game, show ring judges (this is the most fun), thirsty hounds area, set up and take down.  If you want to see a lot of smiling faces and wagging tales while you volunteer, please contact Diane Roloff at

ALSO…What does Chloe and Colonial Ice Cream Have In Common?
The west side Colonial Ice Cream will donate 10% of sales between the hours of 4:00 – 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 7th to Chloe and the Comfort Dog Ministry.  Please see Chloe on Sundays and she will be happy to give you a voucher.  You must present the voucher to your waitress in order for Chloe to get the donation. Chloe will be at the Randall Road Colonial after the dog festival to see all her Lord of Life friends. Thanks for your support.

Family Camp at Lake Geneva Youth Camp, Lake Geneva, WI

Exciting News! LIVE OUT LOUD Charity
The “LIVE OUT LOUD CHARITY”, which is an organization that raises awareness against bullying, depression, and suicide, will be having their 4th annual CHARITY FASHION SHOW and SUICIDE PREVENTION SEMINAR right here at LORD OF LIFE CHURCH!

The date of the fashion show/seminar is Saturday October 12, 2013. ( This falls on Columbus Day weekend ) and a  portion of each ticket sold to the event will benefit our own Comfort Dog Ministry!

There is a “Model Audition” coming up right here at Lord of Life Church on Saturday, September 7th, from 3-6 pm (shortly after the Dog Festival!)   The Co-Ordinator for the fashion show is Kim Cole. If you are interested in attending the audition, please either call Kim at 630-918-3015, or send her an email at

The audition is a simple procedure! You will have your photo taken, you will be asked to strut your best model walk, and be asked a few simple questions, like, “Why do you want to be in the show?”  ITS THAT EASY!

What do you wear to the audition? Something comfortable for you to walk in. Girls please bring a pair of heels. Guys, comfortable shoes are best.

Auditions are open to ANY ONE, regardless of gender, race, height, size, etc. We just ask that the minimum age be 5, because of the mature nature of the material presented about suicide.

We have 13 professional photographers who will be covering the show, many well-known designers who will be showcasing their fashions, lots of coverage from area newspapers and press! Great chance to get LORD OF LIFE CHURCH out there to those in the community, spread the news about our Comfort Dog Ministry, and raise funds and awareness to educate those about bullying, depression and suicide.
