August Mission Connection
Our Mission Connection for August is AWANA, an after-school Christian program for kids. AWANA helps churches and parents work together to develop spiritually strong children and youth who faithfully follow Jesus Christ. Over 12,000 churches in the US. and 13,000 internationally run  AWANA programs that change young lives through Biblical truths. Lord of Life has an AWANA program that meets on Wednesdays from 6:15-8:00pm, starting in September. Check the bulletin for registration information.

Meagan Seals Miracle Baby Fundraiser
We’ve collected over $400 so far. That’s just over 10% of our goal. It’s a start. We’ll continue to promote this fundraiser through the Autumn months. Let’s pray the LORD provides beyond our expected goal of $3,600 for one year of formula for Meagan. Remember we’re kicking off two fundraisers for her in August. The first is at Five Below (Fabyan Crossings in Geneva) on the weekend of August 9th – 11th. 10% of our purchases will be used for this fundraiser. The other fundraiser is collecting monies for Meagan’s formula here at LoL. See lobby display for details. We could use a few more people to sign up for greeters. It’s not too late. Some spots are still open for Saturday and Sunday.

Blood Drive – Sunday, August 18th
This time of year is when blood centers across the country suffer the most. While schools are out for the summer and families away on vacations the inventory levels of blood suffer, while the need for blood continues to rise. By taking 45 minutes out of your morning to donate 1 pint of blood, you can help replenish that supply while saving up to 3 lives. This summer we are giving you the chance of saving more lives. Lord of Life, is partnering with Heartland Blood Center and the Elburn Food Pantry, When you sign up after service this Sunday, August 11th to donate blood you will receive a reusable shopping bag and a shopping list of what the food pantry is in need of, when you come back on August 18th to donate, fill that bag with your groceries and all the items that we collect will be delivered to the food pantry, In return you will then be able to keep that bag and will also receive a $7 Oberweis Gift Card. Please visit the sign up table in the lobby or complete the connection card to make an appointment. Walk ins are always welcome! If you do not want to donate but are willing to volunteer to serve in other areas such as baking, help out at registration, or sit at the refreshment table please also stop by the table. If you have any questions, please call or email Judy Yant @ 630-294-4328 or Judy.a.Yant@gmail.com.

Quilters of the King
We thank everyone who donated buttons. That project is done now and was enjoyed by the ladies at Lifespring. We are starting baby quilts for the two pregnancy centers. We are in need of baby prints for the quilts and batting. God has been so good in providing for our group to continue our work. If you have any minor sewing to be done we would be glad to help. Come join us on Thursday mornings at 9:00 for devotions, prayer, quilting, fellowship and snacks. For more information call Pamela McLane 630 879 0989.
